Home Tips to improve your child’s academic performance

Encourage a healthy diet & nutritious snacks – Start the day with a good breakfast
- Stick to an appropriate nightly bedtime schedule

Teach and monitor good hygiene habits

Guide cooperative behaviors
- Encourage excellent attendance & work habits
- Review student work with them
- Guide conversations: Talk, listen, and read together to build vocabulary
- Read, discuss and compare stories, characters and plots
- Schedule a weeknight study time for each child
- Use flash cards to help children study and learn new vocabulary, math facts or definitions
- Journal: Keep a diary or journal to encourage writing skills, use a tape recorder to improve pronunciation
- Give daily praise and encouragement
- Plan a special daily/weekly family activity: reading, cooking, dining or board game night

be in school everyday, on time and picked up promptly.
