WBZ Weathernet
School, Brickett is a
member of the world's largest network of school-based weather stations.
The latest weather data is recorded and relayed daily to and from our
Brickett library-media center weather station. Here students are
encouraged to explore and develop written and spoken communication skills,
expand their content area knowledge base; as well as, improve their
technology and research skills. By incorporating the latest weather data into the curriculum we are able to enhance both student instruction and our communication theme. The bi-weekly morning announcements made by students provide increased opportunities for building communication skills, self-esteem and school pride. We are proud to be an AirWatch Systems Program participant and provide students with unique real world learning experiences that benefit the school community. Related supplemental before and after school enrichment programs offered throughout the year also support our academic progress, weather net and communication themes. Each year we look for better ways to improve classroom instruction, increase student learning, expand communication skills, and encourage more parent involvement at Brickett School.
